Vertrue Invests $10,000 in the Community through United Way of Coastal Fairfield County

Norwalk, Conn. (PRWEB) October 1, 2009 -- In its continuing effort to reach out to local communities, Vertrue Incorporated has announced that it donated $10,000 to United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. The donation is one part of Vertrue's ongoing charitable program, Vertrue Good Works (http://Goodworks.Vertrue.com/).

Vertrue's $10,000 investment in United Way's Community Fund will go toward advancing the common good in the areas of Education, Income and Health. United Way's target issues in these areas are school readiness, academic achievement, achieving greater financial stability, increasing affordable housing and reducing homelessness, providing basic needs, healthy youth and resilient families, and healthy older adults.

In addition, Vertrue employees participate in other United Way local community activities such as health fairs, blood drives, career development seminars and more. Beyond dollars, these events provide support and encouragement to local residents.

According to Gary Johnson, CEO of Vertrue (http://www.vertrue.com/gary-johnson.asp) "It is a privilege for Vertrue to be able to make this contribution to United Way of Coastal Fairfield County and help those in need right here in our community. When we invest in United Way, we know that our investment is helping youth and families so that kids do well in school, families can save for the future, and communities are healthy."

"It has been a pleasure working with Vertrue over the years," stated David Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. "I have seen Vertrue's commitment to community and improving the lives of so many. We are grateful for their leadership and investment in United Way," he added.
